FAQ

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All compression happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

What quality value should I use?

70–85 is usually a good balance between quality and file size. For icons or logos, use 90+. For photos shared online, 60–75 often works well.

PNG files don't shrink much — why?

PNG is a lossless format. Quality settings don't apply the same way as JPEG. To significantly reduce PNG file size, convert to JPEG or WebP instead.
